Final Personal Statement:
For me, Graphic Design is a combination of old fashioned and modern technology where I can communicate my own culture and interests through my work.
I have a genuine interest in studying Graphic Design as it is present nearly everywhere from printed material to web design and visual identity. I am fascinated to learn what is trending in the design industry so I can use innovative techniques in my assignments instead of just relying on the basics.
In my spare time I take the initiative to enhance and develop myself and my skillset by researching graphic and web design, such as watching tutorials on YouTube to solve a problem that I may be stuck on. My strongest software experience is XD, Illustrator and InDesign and I spend most of my spare time creating designs for posters and apps/websites. I feel that I have a broad understanding of Adobe creative suite. In addition to that, I enjoy learning techniques and tools that help me create an aesthetic look that catches the user's attention.
My hobbies include travelling, visiting new places, learning about various cultures and local cuisines. Which can guide my ideas as I have an understanding on how advertising and how design works around different countries. As well as reading fantasy, romantic and non-fiction books for pleasure and to increase my knowledge. Besides, I can get more visual ideas on what the audience wants through books and learn what elements can be used to design a book if I need it in the future. I also watch a variety of sub-genres shows where I can relax and have a good time with my family and friends.
During my Level 3 course I was especially fond of creating an app and a website about education, where the focus was to give students an easier way to get information and what they should focus on. Even though it didn't end up the way I wanted, it was a great experience to know my strengths and weaknesses. This helped me to manage my time more wisely as I learned that even if you finish the project early it is good to go through it again and try to improve. This opportunity helped me get out of my comfort zone, stretch my knowledge and challenge myself.
Last summer I attended an UAL one week-long summer course on Graphic Design where I learned the foundations on how to develop projects in a short time frame and collaborate with other people to accomplish a series of tasks. Along with that, it allowed me to work more freely and experiment with different approaches to solve the assignments. I was constantly working with paper and pen, which was faster to sketch ideas and experiment with different design techniques to solve the task at hand. The course helped me decide that I will be suitable to study graphic design as I already have experience with the subject.
In addition to that, I am attending a 7-month course on UX Design by Google (Google UX Design Professional Certificate) to sharpen my skills on user experience to ensure that good usability trumps aesthetics. Together with this, I am learning low fidelity prototypes and wireframes where I can judge the unfinished work and see an idea of what the finished product will look like and how it will work. By doing this, I have the opportunity to go back and make adjustments as needed before releasing a final, finished product.
I hope to study Graphic Design at University because this subject will expand my knowledge on what I have learned while doing courses in and out of college and give me a degree to work in the media industry.

Notes on UAL:
One teacher from UAL came to college to give us a talk about their campuses and the courses they offer there. They also altaked about extra curricular activities that they provide so people outside the university can get more skills and get more guidance on what they want to study in the future. In addition, some students from UAL University came and explained how theirs experience was inside the university. One of them were a Graphic Design student which was interesting as I wish to study at this course. The student gave a short explanation on the type of projects they made and how the course is. This talk in particular was interesting to me as they talked about the course I wish to study and helped me know what I need to work more to get in the University.

Open Days:
University of Middlesex: https://www.mdx.ac.uk/ ( Saturday 8th October 2022)
Westminster University: https://www.westminster.ac.uk/ (Saturday 15th October 2022)
I've attended some open days to see what I think of the university and if I will be comfortable studying there. Going to the open days, helped me learn more about the university and the course I choose to study.
There I had a tour around the university and had the opportunity to talk to teachers and students to get information about the course and the environment. I enjoyed going to those open days as I not only got to know about about the places but made friends while visiting the universities.
Uni Talk:
I went to a talk where a women from Ravensbourne University. There, it was given a better understanding on how universities want our personal statement to be structured, and the do and don't.
Also, The women made a comment on how the portfolio should be presented on the interview. Some of the comment that was useful was where the portfolio should not have lose papers so it won't drop while showing your work in the interview and having a small feedback or an explanation about the work is a good idea to have it.
Journalist Talk:
I am not interested in working with journalism but I learn some skills though out the talk. The journalist started by explaining how she got into journalism though the education aspect of it and what degrees we would need to do at university. After, she started explaining the different fields in journalism and how they all ultimately connect together. This also gave me an idea of doing a certain subject at the beginning and end up doing something else.
What I do on my free time:
I attended an UAL one week-long summer course on Graphic Design where I learned the foundations on how to develop projects in a short time frame and collaborate with other people to accomplish a series of tasks. Along with that, it allowed me to work more freely and experiment with different approaches to solve the assignments. By doing this, I have the opportunity to go back and make adjustments as needed before releasing a final, finished product.
In addition to that, I always go to museums as I enjoy culture and history. And while I am travelling I tend to learning about various cultures and local cuisines making me have an understanding on how advertising and how design works around different countries. As well as, take a lot of pictures around the world and see the different street art.
Work Experience Day Trip:
On this trip my colleges and I went to visit an advertising firm called 'What's Possible Group'. There, they showed us how to work on the media/marketing industry with lots of presentations in the company of lots of people that work on the firm as well as the apprentices.
Unfortunately, the firm only gave presentations the whole day and I was looking forward to have some activities during the day to know how an advertising firm runs.
Although, I don't wish to work or study advertising, it was great to learn not to give up if I can't find a job straight away as I must have patience and ... Also, having an account on Linkedln is a great idea for those who wish to find opportunities and perfect to talk with professional on all fields.
